Gurugram, Aug 31 (PTI) A 34-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute with his friends in Sector 45 here on Monday, police said.
The accused fled the spot after the incident, they said.
The deceased was identified as Babulal, a native of Madhya Pradesh, who lived in a shanty in Sector 45 and worked as a driver, police said.
According to the police, Babulal was at his shanty around 2.30 pm when some of his friends, including Rahul and Akash, also natives of Madhya Pradesh, arrived to meet him.
A dispute broke out between them over an issue, following which the accused allegedly attacked Babulal with a knife, police said.
He sustained serious injuries and collapsed at the spot. The accused fled after the incident, they said.
Bystanders rushed Babulal to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on examination, police said.
A police team reached the spot after receiving information, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
An FIR was registered at Sector 40 police station and an investigation has been initiated, police said.
“We are currently searching for the accused. The actual reason behind the dispute leading to the murder will only be ascertained after the accused are arrested,” a senior police officer said. PTI COR APL
