Thane, Sep 17 (PTI) A 21-year-old man died after receiving an electric shock at his house here while testing musical equipment for a Ganesh immersion procession, police said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Aryan Sanjay Baidya (21), a resident of Ambedkar Chowk, Sathenagar, Wagle Estate.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM on September 15. Aryan, who played the banjo, was testing the instrument by connecting its wiring directly into a wall socket.
His father was in another room repairing a drum (dhol). When Aryan’s younger sister went to the inner room to fetch water, she found him lying unconscious on the floor.
The family rushed Aryan in an auto-rickshaw to a private hospital and later to the Civil Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have registered an Accidental Death Report in the case. PTI COR KRK
