Thane, Apr 18 (PTI) A 70-year-old man was killed after a slab of a room in a four-storey residential building collapsed in Mumbra area of Maharashtra’s Thane city on Saturday, a civic official said.
“A slab of Room No. 202 on the second floor of C-1 building in Zubeda Park Society at Shimla Park collapsed at 10 am,” said the chief of the Disaster Management Cell, Yasin Tadvi.
He said the 22-year-old building is not listed among dangerous structures.
“In the incident, Abdul Rehman Hasan Patel sustained injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Mumbra, where he died during treatment,” he said.
Tadvi said further action will be taken by the Mumbra ward committee and the construction department based on the audit report. PTI COR NSK
