Man booked for raping 16-year-old girl in UP’s Hathras

Hathras (UP), Apr 18 (PTI) A 20-year-old man has been booked for allegedly raping a minor in a village here, police said on Saturday.

According to police sources, the accused, a resident of the same village, committed the crime on Thursday evening.

The 16-year-old victim’s father filed a complaint and stated that his daughter had gone to a field when the accused arrived, grabbed her, and raped her. Later, he fled after threatening her with death. Upon reaching home, the girl informed her family members about the incident.

The family approached the police station, following which a case was registered.
