Dhanbad, Aug 1 (PTI) A 24-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbours in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district on Saturday over old enmity, police said.
The incident happened in Jagjeevan Nagar B-type colony in the Saraidhela police station area, they said.
The victim was identified as Karan Kumar, they added “The victim was beaten with sticks and also attacked with knives. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries. We have detained four people in this connection and they are being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the killing,” Dhanbad DSP (Law and Order) Prakash Soy said.
“Prima facie, it seems the murder happened over old enmity. The victim’s body has been sent to Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College (SNMMCH) for post-mortem examination,” he said.
An FIR has been registered based on the victim’s father’s statement, police said. PTI RPS RPS SOM
