Man arrested from UP for committing dozens of burglaries in Thane, Palghar

Thane, Jun 26 (PTI) Kalyan police in the district have arrested a man from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh who was wanted in at least 33 burglary cases in and around Thane, an official said on Friday.

Rajesh Arvind Rajbhar (30) allegedly targeted locked houses across Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts.

Stolen gold, silver jewelry and cash collectively valued at Rs 38.5 lakh was also seized from his possession.

Rajbhar, a known history-sheeter was recently spotted in CCTV footage from a burgled house under the jurisdiction of Vishnunagar police station, following which the Kalyan crime branch launched a hunt for him.

Acting on a tip-off, he was arrested from Azamgarh, his native place.
