Kozhikode (Kerala), Jul 5 (PTI) A 54-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his younger brother to death at Koduvally in Kozhikode district, police said on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Prasad T P (48), a resident of Katharammal, Valiyaparamb near Koduvally.
Koduvally police registered a murder case and arrested the accused, Pramod Kumar T P, on Sunday.
According to police, the brothers, both unmarried, were living together in the same house.
Police said the two had consumed liquor together before a quarrel broke out over the partition of family property at around 10.30 pm on Saturday.
In a fit of rage, Pramod allegedly stabbed Prasad, causing fatal injuries.
Police said it was Pramod himself who informed relatives and neighbours about the incident.
Police rushed to the house, took the accused into custody and later recorded his arrest after interrogation at the Koduvally police station.
The body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination, police added. PTI TBA TBA KH
