Begusarai, Oct 13 (PTI) A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly injuring a woman by throwing acid at her in Bihar’s Begusarai district, police said.
The incident occurred on Monday night when the woman was returning home from a hospital, an official said, adding that the victim has been taken to the Sadar Hospital in Begusarai for treatment.
According to a police statement, the accused Gautam Jha, a resident of Samastipur district, was arrested on Tuesday after a case was registered under Section 124 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by the use of acid) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
