Mumbai, Jul 22 (PTI) Maharashtra reported nine new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the overall infection count in the state to 2,690 since January this year, the health department said.
Since January, a total of 42 patients have succumbed to the ailment, of whom 41 were suffering from co-morbidities, an official statement said.
Of the nine fresh cases, five are from Mumbai, three from Thane and one from Pune, the statement said.
The health department said it has conducted 39,944 tests to check the infection across the state since January 1, adding that 2,617 patients have recovered so far.
Meanwhile, Mumbai has reported 1,073 infection cases since January, including 551 in June and 81 so far in July. PTI SM NP
