New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav on Tuesday accused the government of “ripping” the youth of their dignity and sacrificing the principles of Mahatma Gandhi by using force on students protesting against the NEET paper leak.
Also participating in the discussion on The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule said that BJP leaders should have spoken with some empathy, compassion, and sensitivity.
Yadav said her party sat with agitating students, else they could not have faced their conscience.
“The government has ripped the youth of their dignity,” she said.
She also slammed the use of pellet guns and assault rifle on students, and underlined the “undignified behaviour” of policemen with women.
Sule said 21 NEET aspirants have killed themselves and alleged the education minister was taking the issue lightly.
” This (issue of NEET paper leak) is not NDA vs UPA. This is fight between system and aspiration.
” … I wish all the BJP people spoke with some empathy, some compassion, some humility, some sensitivity when it is about children,” she said.
“Have you not seen the pain of mothers whose children were sitting at Jantar Mantar protesting over the NEET paper leak issue. Every child was wanting to come to Delhi,” she said.
The NCP (SP) MP asserted the government should take the matter seriously.
Sule demanded that the government call an all-party meeting and also form a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to examine the issue.
