New Delhi, Sep 24 (PTI) President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said the loss of lives in a bus fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful and offered her deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
She also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the accident.
Nine passengers died after a sleeper bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida early Thursday, police said.
The bus was headed to Bihar from Delhi when the incident took place near the 33-km milestone under the Jewar police station area.
“The news of the deaths of people in a fire that broke out in a bus on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
