Dehradun, May 2 (PTI) Light rainfall occurred at several places across Uttarakhand on Saturday, while Dehradun experienced a hailstorm accompanying the rain.
Throughout the day, Dehradun’s weather fluctuated between sunshine and clouds. Late in the evening, strong winds and rain were accompanied by hail.
According to the Dehradun Meteorological Centre, the following rainfall amounts were recorded: 18 mm in Ukhimath, 14.5 mm in Rudraprayag, 12.1 mm in Pithoragarh, 12 mm in Kausani, 11 mm in Srinagar Garhwal, 9.5 mm in Jakholi, and 7.5 mm in Berinag.
The weather office reported that over the past 24 hours, the maximum daytime temperatures in both the plains and the hilly regions of Uttarakhand remained below normal.
In Dehradun, the maximum temperature stood at 32.3 degrees Celsius — three degrees lower than normal.
Maximum temperatures in Pantnagar, Mukteshwar, and Tehri were also recorded at two to four degrees below normal, standing at 34 degrees Celsius, 22.1 degrees Celsius, and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.
