Latur, Jul 4 (PTI) A Latur resident climbed up a tree on Friday to seek a written order directing civic staff to wear uniforms and ID cards.

Activist Babasaheb Bansode said civic staff are subject to frequent transfers and lack of uniforms and ID cards causes trouble to people going for various works at the Latur Municipal Corporation’s offices.

While he initially refused to come down from the tree close to the civic body headquarters despite being urged by police and fire brigade personnel, Bansode relented after LMC encroachment department head Ravi Kamble issued a written order mandating the use of uniforms and ID cards by all municipal staff.

“Enforcing a department-wise dress code and identity cards would streamline citizen interaction and improve accountability,” he asserted. PTI COR BNM
