Aizawl, Oct 14 (PTI) Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Wednesday urged youths to promote harmony and mutual understanding among India’s diverse communities.

The chief minister made the remarks while interacting with a 50-member delegation from Goa visiting Mizoram under the Centre’s Yuva Sangam Youth Exchange Programme and another group of 20 youths from Chandigarh under the Ashta Lakshmi Darshan initiative at the CM’s conference hall here, he said.

Lalduhoma described the youths as India’s most valuable resource and said they have a crucial role in the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The CM encouraged the visiting delegates to explore Mizoram and interact with its people to gain a better understanding of the state’s culture, traditions and way of life.

Such exchange programmes, he said, help build deeper connections among people from different parts of the country and contribute to overall national progress.

During the interaction, the youths on tour of the state sought Lalduhoma’s views on a wide range of subjects, including promoting communal harmony, economic development under the Transform Mizoram Vision 2047, and the distinctive cultural values and traditions of the Mizo people, the official said. Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
