During the hearing, the state government assured the court that the matter would be investigated and that all relevant electronic evidence—including CCTV footage related to the incident—would be collected and preserved.
Following the assurance given by the state government, the division bench comprising Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Siddharth Sah disposed of the petition.
The petition was filed by Baijnath, a social activist from Dehradun. It expressed concern over the alleged purification ritual and requested the preservation of electronic and documentary evidence related to the incident.
