Shimla, Oct 26 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh BJP president Dr Rajeev Bindal on Monday condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s father and demanded a public apology from him.

Bindal, in a press statement issued here, said that political differences are a natural part of democracy, but using disrespectful language against someone’s late father is completely contrary to Indian culture, social values and democratic principles.

He said that PM Modi has dedicated his entire life to serving the nation and society. “Using such offensive language against his family is very unfortunate and unacceptable,” he added.

Bindal further said that Kharge’s language and attitude reflect Congress’ “growing political frustration and ideological bankruptcy”.

“Instead of learning from its political failures and electoral defeats, the Congress party continues to target PM Modi through personal attacks. The Congress leadership is attempting to create bitterness and hostility in the political environment rather than accepting the responsibility for its own shortcomings,” he said. PTI/COR MNK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
