Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 13 (PTI) Kerala Forest Minister Shibu Baby John on Sunday paid tribute to forest department personnel and others who lost their lives while protecting the state’s wildlife and biodiversity.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, John said the state’s rich forests and biodiversity were the result of the sacrifices made by brave men and women who had dedicated their lives to protecting them.
“Many people not only gave their sweat but also their lives to protect nature for future generations. None of our forest conservation efforts can be complete without remembering those who fell under the shade of the forests,” he said.
John paid tribute to the “immortal memories” of those who sacrificed their lives as part of forest conservation efforts.
“We move forward under the shade you gave us, carrying the memories of your sacrifices,” he said.
On September 11, the Forest Department had observed National Forest Martyrs Day and the event was attended by John. PTI TBA TBA ROH
