Kochi, Sep 12 (PTI) Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan said he was “shocked and stunned” to see an AI-generated video showing him leading a group dance.
The viral troll video, in which Satheesan was picturised as dancing with a group of KSEB employees, surfaced amid the ongoing power crisis in the state and frequent power outages. It has garnered millions of views on social media platforms.
Speaking at a seminar on ‘Music, Cinema and Law: Exploring the Intersections of Art, Culture and Law’ here on late Friday, Satheesan said the video had gone viral on social media.
In a lighter vein, Satheesan said the video showed him dancing better than Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and his “friend”, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
“I have seen something on social media.. that myself leading a group dance. Yes, I was dancing better than Mohanlal and my friend, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. I am dancing better than these two dancers,” he said.
“I was stunned and shocked. They are creating videos like that. You can also watch the video on social media,” he added.
Satheesan also stressed the need to amend existing laws to strengthen copyright protection and address emerging challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
With new technologies emerging, changes were also needed in the legal framework, he said.
The chief minister said piracy was severely affecting the film industry and stronger legal protection was required to safeguard the sector. PTI LGK KH
