Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 23 (PTI) The Kerala government on Thursday sanctioned over Rs 1,095 crore for distribution of social security and welfare board pensions for the month of July to the more than 65 lakh beneficiaries in the state.
The government order sanctioning the amount said that the Kerala Social Security Pension Ltd (KSSPL) has been directed to disburse Rs 943.71 crore, towards social security pension, to the account of the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) Director (Rural) under two categories.
It directed KSSPL to transfer Rs 508.13 crore to the LSGD Director (Rural) for distribution to the 28,26,700 beneficiaries who receive the social security pension in their bank accounts.
It also directed KSSPL to transfer Rs 432.85 crore to the LSGD Director (Rural) for direct-to-home distribution beneficiaries who number 23,43,315.
The amounts have to be distributed between July 24 and August 3 and any undistributed funds must be sent back to KSSPL by August 17, the order said.
Besides this, the government also sanctioned Rs 24.76 crore for the over 8.46 lakh beneficiaries of the various pensions under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) of the Centre.
It directed that these amounts be also distributed between July 24 and August 3. PTI HMP ROH
