New Delhi: A 32-year-old man from Karnataka was arrested Saturday after allegedly slitting the throat of his friend, whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife, and drinking his blood. The bizarre incident, which occurred near Siddepalli Cross in Chintamani, was captured on camera by the suspect’s cousin and has since gone viral.

The police have arrested the accused, Vijay, on charges of attempted murder, and a search is currently underway for his cousin, John Babu, who recorded the alleged incident.

The victim, Maresh, managed to escape the attack as Vijay used a small knife, according to the police. Maresh was swiftly taken to the hospital, where he received medical treatment and survived the assault.

According to the police, there were allegations of a growing closeness between Maresh and Vijay’s wife, which angered Vijay. Officials stated that Maresh and Vijay’s wife engaged in lengthy phone conversations, provoking Vijay’s anger. The police further revealed that Vijay had previously warned Maresh multiple times to stop his actions, but he did not heed the warnings.

Subsequently, Vijay contacted his cousin John, a B.Com student, to arrange a meeting with Maresh, who runs a rental vehicle business, on 19 June under the pretext of work. John and Vijay accompanied Maresh to a farm near Siddepalli Chowk, approximately 80 kilometers from Bengaluru, where the attack occurred.

The police indicated that John recorded the entire incident, capturing Vijay slitting Maresh’s throat and allegedly consuming his blood. Although Maresh did not file a formal police complaint, the cops were able to identify Vijay through the video.
