Chennai, Jul 21 (PTI) Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava was on Monday sworn in as Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
In a simple function held at the Raj Bhavan here, Governor R N Ravi administered the oath of office to Justice Shirvastava.
According to the Rajasthan High Court website, Justice Shrivastava enrolled as an advocate with the Bar council of Madhya Pradesh in 1987. His area of practice was inclusive of Constitutional, labour and service, education, local laws and election matters.
He shifted to Chhattisgarh High Court after Chhattisgarh state was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2000.
Justice Shrivastava was appointed Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh in 2009 and he was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court in 2021. He took oath as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court on February 6, 2024. Days ago, he was transferred to the Madras High Court.
Justice Shrivastava was born on March 6, 1964 at Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) in a family of educationists and lawyers.
