Ranchi, Apr 24 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday distributed over Rs 9 crore under a panchayat incentive award scheme in Ranchi.
The award money was distributed among panchayat-level representatives for their outstanding developmental work, during an event at Tana Bhagat Stadium, officials said.
“You have been awarded for fulfilling various developmental tasks under the scheme. This also reflects the sensitivity of our government – those who perform must definitely be rewarded. Along with representatives of districts and panchayats, block-level officials were also awarded,” Soren said.
“You are the eyes, ears, and nose of the government. It is through your efficiency that the path of the state’s overall development can be determined,” the CM told the gathering at the event.
Soren also said there was a time when neither the government’s voice nor benefits of its schemes reached the remote areas, but that era has now “come to an end”.
“I have always said that the state will develop only when our villages become stronger,” the CM said.
The Jharkhand government ensures that no individual is deprived of the basic necessities, he said.
“The fact that no one has died of hunger in recent years is proof of our sensitive and accountable system,” Soren added. PTI RPS RBT
