Medininagar/Deoghar, May 16 (PTI) The Jharkhand Police seized illicit liquor and narcotics worth over Rs 40 lakh and arrested six people during separate operations in two districts, officials said on Saturday.
In Palamu district, police recovered 710 cases containing spurious liquor during a raid at a house in Khairadohar village on Friday, said Amit Kumar Singh, Excise Inspector of Hussainabad.
The seized consignment is valued at around Rs 30 lakh, a police officer said.
In Deoghar district, six people, including three from Bihar, were arrested with 20.75 kg of cannabis worth Rs 10.37 lakh, another officer said.
Apart from the seized drugs, the police recovered two mobile phones, a motorcycle and Rs 28,500 in cash from them, Deoghar SP Praveen Pushkar said. PTI CORR RPS RBT
