Ranchi, May 18 (PTI) A five-day faculty development programme on emerging control and digital technologies for sustainable green energy systems was inaugurated at BIT Mesra here on Monday.

The programme, being conducted from May 18 to 22, has been organised by the department of electrical and electronics engineering.

The event was inaugurated by Sandip Kumar Kar, executive director of the Research and Development Centre for Iron and Steel (RDCIS) of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Ranchi.

Addressing the gathering, Kar highlighted the growing importance of sustainable and digital technologies in modern industry and stressed the need for stronger academia-industry collaboration to address real-world industrial challenges.

“Faculty members are the architects of the engineering talent that will drive India’s green future. BIT Mesra has created an integral platform, connecting academia with emerging industrial requirements,” he said.

Faculty development programme coordinator Gauri Shanker Gupta of the department said the event is being conducted in hybrid mode.

He said 145 participants from 16 states, two Union Territories and six international delegates from places including Illinois, California and New Hampshire in the US, Singapore, and Zurich in Switzerland are attending the programme.

“This reflects the growing academic focus on emerging energy systems and digital technologies. We are confident these five days will be a valuable learning opportunity for all who participate,” he said. PTI RPS RPS MNB
