Ranchi, Jul 2 (PTI) The Jharkhand government on Thursday approved the implementation of the VB-G RAM G scheme in the state and directed officials to create additional employment opportunities for particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs).

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

“The Jharkhand cabinet approved the implementation of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G- Gramin) scheme in the state and directed the rural development department to make provision for additional jobs for PVTGs,” additional chief secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) Vandana Dadel told reporters after the meeting.

Dadel said the cabinet cleared 27 proposals, including administrative approval of Rs 4,189.41 crore for the construction of RIMS-2, an extension of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

A project management unit (PMU) will be set up for the implementation of the project.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi, has been designated as the Centre of Excellence, while Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, will carry out the impact assessment, she said.

State Health Minister Irfan Ansari said RIMS-2 will be equipped with modern medical facilities, state-of-the-art technology, and improved healthcare services.

In the future, it will be established as one of Asia’s largest hospitals, he said.

The cabinet also cleared the proposal for holding the National Stakeholder Consultation 2026 in New Delhi on July 8 and 9. The event will be chaired by CM Soren.

Approval was also given for setting up 28 temporary fair outposts (OP) and 19 traffic OPs in Deoghar in view of the Shravani Mela from July 30 to August 28, Dadel said. PTI SAN SAN MNB
