Amaravati, Sep 24 (PTI) YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met with Governor S Abdul Nazeer and sought a CBI probe into the alleged Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment scam.
He also demanded the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
The former CM called on the Governor late on Wednesday at the Lok Bhavan and explained what he described as “arbitrary policy changes and serious irregularities” that had turned DSC–2025 into a massive scam.
“We sought a CBI investigation into the Mega DSC Scam, and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh,” said Jagan in a post on X late on Wednesday after meeting the Governor.
Further, the opposition leader alleged that YSRCP leaders, workers and unemployed youth were allegedly attacked by the TDP-led coalition government during a recent protest at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office against “irregularities” in the 2025 District Selection Committee (DSC) examination, which had recruited nearly 16,000 government teachers.
Reacting to Jagan’s allegations, Lokesh asserted that the YSRCP leader “chose to stand with rowdy-sheeters who attacked teachers”.
“I choose to stand with our teachers and sportspersons,” he said in a post on X, alleging that rowdy-sheeters had infiltrated into the protest carried out by YSRCP at the SAAP office.
Meanwhile, teachers and sports associations staged protests statewide on Wednesday, condemning the alleged attack on teachers selected under sports quota through the ‘Mega DSC–2025’ at SAAP office in Vijayawada on Monday, said a press release shared by a government source.
“Strongly condemning physical attacks, abusive behaviour and threats against teachers, the association leaders demanded stringent action against those responsible. Following the call given by teachers’ associations, teachers across all districts sported black badges and staged protests during the lunch break,” said the press release.
Further, both the associations demanded that the government provide security to teachers and take measures to prevent such incidents. PTI STH ROH
