New Delhi: IndiGo on Tuesday suspended stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra from flying with the private airline for six months, after he allegedly heckled journalist Arnab Goswami aboard one of its planes from Mumbai to Lucknow.

“In light of the recent incident on board 6E 5317 from Mumbai to Lucknow, we wish to inform that we are suspending Mr Kunal Kamra from flying with IndiGo for a period of six months, as his conduct onboard was unacceptable behaviour,” the airline said in a tweet.

“Hereby, we wish to advise our passengers to refrain from indulging in personal slander whilst onboard, as this can potentially compromise the safety of fellow passengers,” it added.

Kamra allegedly heckled Goswami, the editor of Republic TV, on a Mumbai-Lucknow IndiGo plane on Tuesday.

In a video clip posted by Kamra on Twitter, the stand-up comedian is seen asking Goswami if he is a “coward or a journalist”.

  1. It is a reflection on the state of the media in our country that they don’t stand up for select fellow media persons. Most other print or audio visual media personnel have, and will find support from others in their industry, including certain talk show hosts who spawned such filibustering.

  2. The issue is about one person heckling another person on a flight. Where does Modi come into the picture. I am sure the PM has better things to do than lean on Indigo to ban Kunal

  3. Who is cow Swamy why he insults his guests in his studio.and he is not chosen representative of the nation. on whose behalf he always yell the nation wants to know who the hell he is .bigot.sala

  4. Both are equal customer for airline if airline is bais against an comedian that means he does not respect the followers of comedian with a mission instead of that paid journalism we should stop traveling by indigo they are bias and how can they decide this ….kindly boycott this flight……citizen

  5. Not aware what actually went thru.. But interesting if indigo does this for every rude passenger, or is it modi dadagiri playing out on the airline too

  6. A desparate person getting support from Print is not wondering. definition for decent and intellectual is different for Print , quint and wire
If u can abuse Modi u r decent and intellectual

  7. What’s with this “alleged” heckling, when he himself has shared evidence of that? Why should media try desperately to cast doubt over the charges against these left psychos?

  8. I did not know about this Kunal guy. Seems to be desperate for publicity. Ironically he has to depend on Arnab for that. The more you hear these left jokers you are convinced that they are out for no good! When you ignore they get more desperate.

    • That you didn’t know about Kunal Kamra is simply your lack of awareness. One doesn’t condone the heckling of one of the most obnoxious and biased TV anchors. However one thing is clear- the days of bullying by online troll-packs and screaming news anchors are over. Call it whatever you will – a strong opposition is being built which gives back as good as it gets.
