Amaravati, Sep 14 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday hailed India’s successful hosting of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, saying the country’s voice was being heard with “greater confidence and respect” globally.
India hosted the BRICS Summit on September 12-13, with leaders of the 11 member countries and 10 partner countries attending, along with representatives of some international organisations.
“I’m delighted that India successfully hosted the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi… Today, India’s voice is being heard with greater confidence and respect across the world than ever before!” the chief minister said in a post on X.
Underscoring that the summit brought together some of the world’s leading economies at a time of significant global change, Naidu said India had emerged as a trusted platform where nations with diverse perspectives could come together, engage constructively and find common ground.
He said the New Delhi Declaration’s focus on stronger multilateral institutions, resilient supply chains, innovation, sustainable development and greater cooperation among emerging economies was particularly significant.
These issues would shape global growth and prosperity in the decades ahead, Naidu said, adding that the ability to build consensus while advancing the interests of the developing world reflected India’s “growing economic strength and stature” on the global stage.
Naidu also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in hosting the landmark summit. PTI STH SSK
