Hyderabad: India’s largest and tallest Trump Towers are coming up in Hyderabad, and a Trump family member will visit India at the end of the year to launch the iconic, ultra-luxury residential skyscrapers.
Being built for high net-worth individuals, the Trump Towers are touted as a landmark luxury project, said Kalpesh Mehta, founder of Tribeca Developers, which is co-developing the project with Hyderabad-based Ira Realty. Tribeca Developers is among India’s developers of luxury trophy properties, and the company introduced branded residences to India with the Trump brand in 2014.
With more than 13 projects (eight of them Trump-branded) in the country worth Rs 16,000 crore, it is the largest developer of Trump-branded properties worldwide, according to a statement issued by the company.
The Hyderabad project, the first Trump Tower in southern India, will comprise two 65-storey towers rising approximately 800 feet, connected by a dramatic suspended bridge at the 28th floor. Above the bridge will sit the Trump Club, a landscaped club floor spanning both towers and open to the city on every side, as per details shared by the developer.
The residential project with 450 apartments and penthouses has already clocked bookings of almost 30 units within just two weeks of receiving its Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) registration. Narsi Reddy, Founder and Managing Director of Ira Realty, Tribeca’s Hyderabad collaborator, said, “We have already sold eight penthouses worth Rs 250 crore without any promotion or advertisement. Of these, only one is bought by a Miami-based non-resident Indian, while the other units have all been bought by Hyderabad’s high-net-worth individuals.”
Situated in Hyderabad’s upmarket, start-up-heavy Kokapet area, the twin towers, coming up in a five-acre plot, will be completed in four to five years. Calling Hyderabad’s luxury appetite an “eye-opener”, Mehta said Hyderabad’s real estate prices were comparable to Chicago’s. “Of all the Trump Towers projects in India, Hyderabad’s is the largest and is almost at par with Chicago’s. We are targeting more Telugus in the USA and in Hyderabad to buy homes in our project,” Mehta said.
The largest penthouse in this Kokapet project spans 30,000 square feet, and it was reportedly bought by one of Hyderabad’s richest families for Rs 60 crore, Reddy shared at the press conference in Hyderabad. The smaller apartments (3,500 square feet) and penthouses (12,000 square feet) are priced anywhere between Rs 6 and 10 crore for 3.5/4 BHKs, and Rs 32 crore for penthouses, Reddy added.
Given the surprising uptick in sales, Tribeca is planning a second project in Hyderabad as well, which will include super-luxury farmhouses at a resort. “The clientele for ultra-luxury residences in Hyderabad includes the second-generation of the city’s IT, Pharma, Infrastructure entrepreneurs and bureaucrats. We understand that they prefer apartments over homes since their parents’ homes are already built on large parcels of land,” Reddy said, revealing the residential preferences of next-gen entrepreneurs.
In its 2022 Wealth Report, real estate and property consulting firm Knight Frank said that Hyderabad boasts the highest number of ultra-rich individuals in the country, trailing only Mumbai. “It is in this scenario that Trump Towers has left no stone unturned to bring the absolute best to the city since Hyderabad is one of the largest and fastest-growing luxury markets in the country,” said Kalpesh Mehta.
That India has the highest number of Trump Towers outside of North America comes as no surprise. With India’s first Trump World Centre office project at Pune scheduled to be inaugurated next month, Tribeca is looking to develop at least another three to four projects in the next few years, company officials said. Four cities in India—Pune, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Kolkata—are already home to luxury residential Trump Tower projects.
US President Donald Trump’s global network of ultra-luxury residential complexes and fancy office complexes is run by The Trump Organization, which invests in real estate and hospitality. Tribeca is their licensed party and co-developer in India. Asked if President Trump’s family has a stake in Tribeca, Mehta refused comment.
It is, however, known that Mehta, who calls himself a first-generation real estate entrepreneur, studied alongside Donald Trump Junior (President Trump’s son) at the Wharton School of Business. Mehta’s professor and mentor, Peter Linneman, also considered a well-known real estate personality, had mentored Trump’s three children—Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. Reports suggest that it is through Linneman that the connection with the extended Trump family was established in 2010, which later extended into a business partnership in 2014.
Mehta, who founded Tribeca Developers in 2012, forged a partnership with Tribeca, secured exclusive brand licensing rights for the Trump Organization in India in 2014, and later introduced the Trump Towers concept by launching projects in Gurugram and Kolkata. In 2022, Trump Jr visited India to mark the 10-year partnership between him and Mehta, announcing their joint decision to scout for more projects in the country.
Sources at Tribeca said that the Trump Organisation lends the ‘Trump’ brand name to developers under a licensing agreement, which allows the brand to command a much higher price than similar luxury properties in India.
In India, Tribeca is listed as a collaborator, and according to the Tribeca website, the company collaborates closely with the Trump team in New York and with local developers. “In India, Tribeca is involved in every aspect of development – from construction and design to sales and marketing—to ensure its conceptualisation and execution is up to par with the high global standards of Trump.” Further queries sent to Tribeca on the Trump Organization’s investments in Indian realty went unanswered.
At the Hyderabad conference, Kalpesh Mehta said that the company is targeting revenue of Rs 4,500 to 5,000 in the current financial year. In FY2026, the company clocked revenues of Rs 3,500 crore, almost doubling its previous year’s figures of Rs 1,800 crore, the Tribeca founder said.
