New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Wednesday evacuated a fisherman from a fishing boat named Pushkar Raj, 50 kilometres away from the coast in the Gulf of Khambat.

The 37-year-old had sustained a bone fracture and his ankle was fractured too, a PIB press release stated.

The ICG said in a statement that the Pushkar Raj was carrying one crew member, who was critically injured.

After receiving information about the incident, the Interceptor Boat C-409, which was on deployment, diverted to the area and established communication with the IFB.

The fisherman was evacuated safely and taken to the government hospital in stable condition for further medical management, the ICG said.
