The guidelines have been issued as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission under which a total amount of Rs 200 crore has been allotted for the development of testing facilities, infrastructure, and institutional support for the development of standards and regulatory frameworks.
Under the scheme, the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will be the Scheme Implementation Agency (SIA).
The testing facilities are expected to be used for the testing of various components, technologies, and processes in the green hydrogen sector. The aim is to ensure quality, sustainability, and safety in the production and trade of green hydrogen. The scheme will be implemented in a phased manner and will be completed in the next financial year. The total financial outlay for the scheme is estimated at Rs 200 crore up to the financial year 2025-26.
