New Delhi: The Indian govt has proposed draft rules for moisture meters that are used to measure the moisture content of various substances, including cereal grains and oilseeds. The proposal is aimed at standardizing and regulating their accuracy in order to enhance fairness and transparency in agricultural trade practices, a PIB press release stated.
It is necessary to measure moisture levels accurately in order to ensure the proper storage and transportation of cereal grains and oilseeds.
Various stakeholders including government, industry, and academic institutions have expressed their support for the proposal. It is hoped that the new rules will enable the efficient detection and control of moisture levels in various agricultural commodities, which will ultimately benefit the entire farming sector.
