(Reuters) – The Indian government has cut the windfall tax on petroleum crude to 2,100 Indian rupees ($25.04) per metric ton from 4,600 rupees per metric ton, effective from Aug. 17, a notification issued on Friday showed.

India revises the windfall tax on petroleum crude every fortnight.
