Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Jun 13 (PTI) Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi on Saturday claimed that the country has achieved a new milestone in development and global stature under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She said that ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach the youth, women, farmers, and poor has been a priority for the government.
Speaking to reporters here, she said, “I extend my best wishes to the Prime Minister for serving the people of the country for the longest tenure as an elected Prime Minister. As he completes 12 years in office serving as the nation’s ‘Pradhan Sevak’, he has consistently focused on designing schemes for the benefit of women, youth, farmers, and common people.” She said that Modi has advanced the nation by balancing development with the preservation of our heritage.
“Today, as he stands as the world’s most popular leader, we as workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party consider it a privilege to work under his guidance. The people of the country place their trust and faith in him. The nation is progressing steadily under his leadership, and everyone is resolutely committed to realising his vision of transforming India into a ‘Vishwa Guru’ by 2047,” the Union minister said.
She said that it is a matter of pride for the entire nation that he (Modi) has been conferred with the highest civilian and national honours by 32 countries across the world.
The Union minister, who on Saturday visited the coal town of Dhanbad, also cleaned the statue of Swami Vivekananda and garlanded it. She took up a broom and led a cleanliness drive in the Hirapur Hatiya area. Several BJP leaders and workers, including MP Dhullu Mahto and Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, were present on the occasion.
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements, the Union minister launched a scathing attack on him. She said that Rahul Gandhi “lacks an understanding” of when, where, and what to speak.
“Had he possessed political acumen, he would not have criticised India while abroad,” Devi said. PTI ANB RG
