Hyderabad, Aug 5 (PTI) Three intermediate second-year students were booked for allegedly assaulting and injuring a junior student of a private college here, police said on Wednesday.

The incident happened on Monday following an argument between the students over organising a fresher’s party as part of the college fest, they said.

The intermediate first-year student in a complaint lodged with Chaitanyapuri police stated the three senior students abused and beat him up, following which he suffered fracture in nasal bone. He also accused the college management of not taking any action against the seniors in spite of him bringing the incident to their notice.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Telangana Prohibition of Ragging Act against the three students. All students were minors, police said.

The college management was also booked for alleged negligence, a police official said, adding they are verifying into the complaint. PTI VVK VVK KH
