Hyderabad, Sep 28 (PTI) A case has been registered against a taxi-driver here for allegedly harassing a 38-year-old woman and stealing Rs 60,000 from her, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on September 26 when the woman, who runs a Kirana shop business, boarded the taxi at Jadcherla to travel to Hyderabad.
The woman in the complaint stated that at 8.30 hours, the driver stopped the car beside the Kothwalguda service road near here, and “grabbed” her. When she raised an alarm, the driver fled the spot in the car with her Rs 60,000, police said.
The woman filed a complaint with the police, based on which a case relating to assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and theft under relevant sections of BNS was registered at RGI Airport Police Station.
A police official said, a FIR has been registered based on the woman’s complaint and further legal action will be initiated.
