Hyderabad, Sep 14 (PTI) As many as eight people have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape and sexual exploitation of a minor girl here, police said on Monday.
A case under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the BNS was registered on Sunday following a complaint, they said.
The accused were known to the girl and allegedly sexually exploited her separately over a period of two-and-a-half years by offering her items such as chocolates laced with ganja, police said.
Police said three more persons were likely to be arrested soon.
The girl was also allegedly sexually exploited in a hotel room. Action would be initiated against the concerned hotel staff for allegedly violating the law by allowing the minor and the accused to enter the premises, police said. PTI SJR SSK
