Una (HP), Nov 5 (PTI) Due to the increased movement of devotees, tourists, and the general public during the festive season, the administration has decided to allow all heavy vehicles transporting mining and mineral materials to travel on roads between 6 am and 2 pm from November 5 to November 8, officials said on Thursday.
According to the orders issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jatin Lal, heavy vehicles carrying these materials will be strictly prohibited from operating throughout the district during this time.
Lal emphasised that this measure is necessary to ensure public safety, maintain smooth traffic flow, and uphold law and order. He noted that heavy vehicles transporting mining and mineral materials contribute to traffic congestion, inconvenience the public, and pose potential road safety risks, especially on busy roads and in sensitive areas.
The deputy commissioner also directed the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Una, all concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), and other officials to ensure strict compliance with this order within their respective jurisdictions.
He asserted that stern legal action will be taken against anyone found violating this order. PTI COR
