Shimla, Oct 16 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for an indoor ice-skating rink-cum-roller skating rink in Sakoh, Dharamshala, on Friday, to be built for Rs 33.78 crore, officials said.

The facility will house a gym, a billiards room, and a cafe on the basement floor, along with a VIP lounge on the ground floor and an upper balcony with seating for 1,079 people, according to a statement.

The open roller skating rink will seat 250 people, and the complex will also provide parking for 250 vehicles.

Sukhu directed the concerned officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while ensuring construction quality, the statement said.

The chief minister also dedicated a state-of-the-art faecal sludge and septage management (FSSM) facility for Dharamshala town, constructed at Rs 9.82 crore.

The facility has a designed treatment capacity of 60 kilolitres per day (KLD) and will serve seven unsewered wards, covering around 7,500 households. PTI BPL SMV ASD

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
