Himachal CM directs officials to prepare accurate data of damage caused during monsoon

Shimla, Aug 31 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday directed the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) to prepare accurate data on water released from various dams and assess the extent of damage caused during the monsoon.

He gave the direction as he conducted a surprise inspection of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) and the SEOC here.

During the inspection, he obtained detailed information about the various monitoring functions of the rapid incident reporting system established at the centre.

Since the onset of monsoon on June 30 date, about 104 people have died in Himachal Pradesh in rain-related incidents, while the state has suffered losses of Rs 1,184 crore, officials said on Sunday. PTI COR PRK
