New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) The boundary wall of an old house collapsed following heavy rainfall in northwest Delhi’s Vijay Nagar area on Thursday, damaging several parked vehicles, police said.
The incident was reported in the Vijay Nagar Double Storey area under Model Town police station limits.
A police team that inspected the spot found eight to nine motorcycles buried under the debris, while the glass window of a car parked near the wall was shattered.
Locals had gathered at the spot. There were no reports of any person being trapped under the debris or injured by the wall collapse, police said.
A police officer said the area was inspected and the damaged vehicles were documented as part of the enquiry.
“No injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident. Preliminary inquiry suggests that the boundary wall collapsed due to the continuous rainfall,” he said.
The incident comes as several parts of the national capital witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion. PTI BM RUK RUK
