Chandigarh, May 8 (PTI) Haryana Minister Krishan Lal Panwar was hurt in a road accident near a toll plaza on the national highway in Panipat on Friday, officials said.

Development and Panchayat Minister Panwar was travelling in an SUV at the time of the accident.

Dalbir, SHO of the police station under whose jurisdiction the accident took place, said that someone suddenly stopped his car on the road due to which the oncoming convoy of the minister had to suddenly apply the brakes.

Police said the SUV’s airbags deployed due to the impact after it dashed into a convoy vehicle ahead.

Though the minister escaped any serious injury, he was taken to the civil hospital in Panipat as he suffered swelling in his wrist and felt pain in the knee.

Panipat’s Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh told PTI over phone that the minister is doing fine.

Chief Medical Officer, Panipat, Vijay Malik told PTI that various tests were carried out, including a CT scan of the head and spine, and the reports were normal. PTI SUN — MNK MNK
