Gurugram, Sep 12 (PTI) The Haryana BJP will organise a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, state BJP president Dr Archna Gupta said on Saturday.
Dr Gupta added that the campaign will be organised across the state to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey of public life to every citizen. The campaign, commencing on September 17 and observed as ‘Seva Diwas’, will kick off with the lighting of 30,000 ‘Aashirwad Diyas’ in every assembly constituency of the state and it will continue until October 17 as a series of a dozen events, she added.
She said that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will not be limited to BJP workers but instead, it will be transformed into a mass movement through the participation of every section of society and every Haryanvi.
“Events are planned at various locations, including the lighting of one lakh lamps at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra and 50,000 lamps at the Devi Mandir in Panipat as well as at the ancient Mata Sheetala Mandir in Gurugram, Mata Mansa Devi Mandir in Panchkula, and Rani Talab in Jind.
“A blood donation camp will be inaugurated in Kurukshetra on September 17 in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and subsequently, large-scale blood donation camps will be organised daily, with one being held in a different district each day. Similarly, large-scale tree plantation will be carried out under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Around 10,000 saplings are set to be planted in Manesar, Gurugram, under the ‘Namo Vatika’ initiative with the support of the Forest Department,” said Dr Gupta.
Under the campaign, drawing and speech competitions on the theme “India of My Dreams” will be held in schools. Competitions, starting at the village level, will expand to the block, district, and state levels, and winning participants will be honoured.
Career counselling sessions will also be held for the youth. Special programmes will be organised in around 19,365 anganwadis across Haryana. The ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ will be taken out in various districts of the state on October 7.
Dr Gupta added that a programme will be organised to facilitate the exchange of information regarding development initiatives and public welfare schemes between Haryana and Karnataka.
