Chandigarh, Jul 2 (PTI) The Haryana Police has implemented extensive security measures across Haryana to ensure that the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026 is conducted fairly, transparently, and peacefully on July 4 and 5.
Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal has directed all police commissioners and superintendents of police to implement multi-layered security measures at every examination centre and ensure that no malpractice, cheating or law-and-order issues occur during the examination, according to an official statement issued Thursday.
The DGP emphasised that the top priority of Haryana Police is to provide a safe and just environment for candidates attending the examination.
He assured that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to cheat, spread rumours, disrupt the examination process, or create any law-and-order problems.
Singhal further informed that Haryana Police has established close coordination with the district administration and the Education Department for the smooth conduct of the examination.
Intelligence units have been activated, while social media platforms will be monitored round the clock to prevent rumours or false claims, including those related to question paper leaks.
He mentioned that CCTV surveillance has been strengthened at examination centres, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will remain on standby to deal with any emergency or security-related incident.
Senior police officers have also been instructed to conduct surprise inspections of examination centres to review security arrangements and ensure compliance with guidelines.
Both male and female police personnel have been adequately deployed at all examination centres. Additionally, security has been tightened at treasuries where question papers are stored and during their transportation.
The provisions of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, will be enforced around examination centres to maintain law and order.
The examination centres have been divided into sectors and will remain under continuous surveillance through regular police patrolling and Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles.
Gazetted officers have been appointed to supervise security arrangements in every district and will brief all personnel before deployment.
District intelligence units have been tasked to monitor cheating syndicates and antisocial elements closely, the statement said.
Coaching centres, hotels, lodges, dharamshalas, cyber cafes and other suspicious locations near examination centres will be checked to prevent any illegal activity linked to the examination.
A two-tier frisking system will be followed at all examination centres. Police and Home Guards will conduct the first level of frisking, while private security personnel will carry out the second.
Candidates will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, tablets, pagers, electronic gadgets, books, notes, loose papers, wallets, belts, water bottles or any other prohibited items inside the examination centres.
The DGP said CCTV cameras would cover examination halls and other sensitive areas.
Physical inspection of every examination centre will also be carried out by gazetted officers to identify and remove any security vulnerabilities that could affect the fairness of the examination.
Special arrangements have also been made for traffic regulation, parking and crowd management outside examination centres.
Police and Home Guard personnel will be deployed at entry gates to facilitate the smooth movement of candidates.
Candidates requiring emergency assistance can also seek help through Dial-112.
The Government Railway Police has been directed to ensure adequate security at major railway stations.
Singhal appealed to candidates and their parents to rely only on official information, follow all examination guidelines and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police or Dial-112. PTI VSD MPL MPL
