Itanagar, Sep 18 (PTI) NITI Aayog Member Joram Aniya called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor K T Parnaik here on Friday to discuss strategic planning, infrastructure, and pathways for sustainable growth in the frontier state.
During the meeting, they discussed providing policy support, boosting connectivity, and accelerating inclusive development tailored to the state’s unique geographical and socio-cultural landscape, an official statement from Lok Bhavan said.
Parnaik emphasised that Arunachal Pradesh, endowed with rich natural resources, a distinct tribal heritage, and strategic importance, requires region-specific development solutions. He noted that NITI Aayog can play a transformative role by offering data-driven policy guidance and long-term vision to advance the goals of ‘Viksit Arunachal’ and ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.
Highlighting various initiatives undertaken by the state government and Lok Bhavan across education, health, tourism, and technology, the governor asked NITI Aayog’s support to showcase the state’s potential on the national stage.
Underlining connectivity as a key driver of progress, Parnaik urged the think tank to facilitate inter-ministerial coordination and help mobilise resources for vital infrastructure projects.
Investments in roads, digital networks, power, healthcare, border-area development, and education would not only elevate living standards but also enhance trade, tourism, and national security, he said.
The governor further drew attention to sectors where the state holds natural advantages, such as hydropower, horticulture, organic farming, bamboo, medicinal plants, and the green economy. He called for initiatives focused on innovation, skill development, women-led growth, and youth empowerment while preserving the state’s pristine ecology and indigenous heritage. PTI CORR RG
