Guv congratulates Bihar Museum team on global recognition

Stay updated with ThePrint:

Patna, Nov 3 (PTI) Governor Syed Ata Hasnain on Tuesday congratulated state Art and Culture Minister Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi and Bihar Museum Director Anjani Kumar for the institution’s global recognition.

Hasnain was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of a Bhojpuri Chhath song at the museum ahead of the festival.

“I congratulate Chandravanshi and Kumar on behalf of the entire state. This is indeed a remarkable achievement and will bring considerable recognition to Bihar,” he said.

The museum was ranked ninth globally and first in Asia by travel guide ‘Worth a Journey’ in its list of the world’s 100 best museums, released in late October.

The governor also appreciated the Bhojpuri Chhath song presented by folk singer Manisha Srivastava.

“I heard such a beautiful Bhojpuri song and urged the singer and others to spread awareness about disasters through music. If we can use songs in Bhojpuri and other regional languages to take the message of disaster preparedness to the rest of the country, we should certainly make an effort in that direction,” he said.

Chandravanshi had recently said the museum’s global recognition reflected the transformation taking place in the state.

Located in the heart of Patna, the museum, conceived by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is a major cultural institution showcasing the region’s ancient history, art and heritage. PTI SUK MNB
