Gurugram, Oct 27 (PTI) The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) carried out an enforcement drive on Tuesday, demolishing eight ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants in Bhondsi, Daulatabad, Dhumaspur, Berhampur, and Maidawas areas, an official said.
A senior MCG official said the drive’s aim was to control dust and air pollution resulting from construction activities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
According to the MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, a team led by Assistant Engineer Ashish Hooda demolished three RMC plants in the Rithoj Road, Jail Road, and Behrampur areas.
Whereas, a team under Assistant Engineer Hariprakash carried out an operation in Daulatabad, dismantling three more plants. And a team led by Joint Commissioner Sapna Yadav razed two RMC plants in the Dhumaspur and Maidawas areas.
He added that RMC plants produce concrete for construction projects, and the dust generated by them, combined with other construction activities, can cause air pollution to spike.
“Controlling pollution and maintaining a clean environment are among the priorities of the Municipal Corporation. The Corporation’s teams are conducting inspections and enforcement actions across various areas. Monitoring and enforcement efforts will continue in the future to ensure environmental protection and compliance with regulations”, Dahiya said. PTI COR KSI
