Gurugram, Jun 25 (PTI) The District Town Planner (Enforcement) Department has issued a notice to tenants residing in PGs, guest houses, hotels, and hostels across DLF Phases 1 to 5 in Gurugram to vacate by June 30, an official said.
After this date, all such accommodations will be sealed, and the tenants themselves will be held responsible for any losses incurred, he added.
On Wednesday, the DTPE department pasted notices across DLF Phases 1 to 5, issuing an ultimatum to occupants to vacate their rooms and remove their belongings, warning that no further opportunity would be granted after June 30.
According to the public notice, this advisory applies to all individuals residing in PG accommodations, guest houses, hotels, hostels, co-living facilities, or other commercial establishments operating on residential plots.
“It has been observed that a large number of residential plots have been converted and are being used for commercial purposes in violation of the approved zoning regulations, building plans and applicable development control norms. Several such premises have already been sealed and restoration proceedings are continuing.
“It has further been noticed that in many cases, occupants and tenants residing in such premises are not adequately informed by the owners, operators or landlords regarding the notices issued by the competent authorities and the proposed enforcement action against the premises.
“All occupants, tenants and paying guests are advised to verify the legal status of the premises in which they are residing and, wherever necessary, make suitable alternative arrangements by 30.06.2026 to avoid hardship, inconvenience or disruption that may arise due to sealing or restoration action undertaken by the competent authorities,” read the notice.
Gurugram authorities are conducting a major crackdown on illegal commercial properties, PGs, and unauthorised residential units in DLF, displacing hundreds of tenants. PTI COR MNK MNK
