Greenko gets CCI nod for Sikkim hydro power project

The special purpose vehicle was incorporated in India to enable the implementation of the 1200 MW hydro power project in North Sikkim.

New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given clearance for Greenko Energies Private Limited to acquire additional shares in Sikkim Urja Limited, a special purpose vehicle for the proposed 1200 MW hydro power project in North Sikkim, a PIB press release stated.

According to the CCI, Greenko Energies, an indirect company wholly owned by Greenko Mauritius, will acquire the additional shares in the capacity of 6 units of 200 MW each in the hydro power project.

The special purpose vehicle was incorporated in India to enable the implementation of the 1200 MW hydro power project in North Sikkim.

The project will be executed by Greenko Mauritius, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH).

According to the CCI, Greenko Mauritius, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH), a company incorporated in Mauritius, will hold the majority of the shares in the special purpose vehicle.
