Hisar (Haryana), Aug 20 (PTI) Gangster Vinod Pannu, alias Kana, was shot dead by two assailants at the main gate of the District Court complex here on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Pannu was leaving the complex with his associates after a court hearing when the attack took place, police said.
The two assailants, who were lying in wait, attacked Pannu at the court gate and fired approximately 10 rounds in quick succession, they said.
One of the assailants was reportedly overpowered by some people, but police have not yet confirmed it.
Police are investigating if the killing was the result of an inter-gang rivalry.
Following the incident, heavy police deployment was made at the spot and the area was cordoned off.
